In 1983 I was commissioned to create a large ceramic tile mural for the Bank of Boston. This was a new medium for me, but I was able to learn the process by working with The Belfast Bay Tile Works in Somerville, MA. After successfully completing this project, I was inspired to continue further work in ceramic tile and glazed ceramics. During the early 80s I went on to make numerous tile paintings based on portraits by famous artists; ceramic urns with scenes of nature combined with Japanese patterning; and custom dinnerware.
