The two series of drawings, Turkey Mazes and Unraveled Sweaters were made in the aftermath of September 11. The unraveled sweaters were based on an actual sweater I found in a thrift shop. Each day I unraveled it a bit and made a new drawing until I reached the point where there was ony a pile of wool left, unrecognizable as an article of clothing in human form. The wool was red, yellow, green and blue as were the pencil lines themselves. This metaphor captured my own feelings about the psychological/political disintegration that was occuring both here and abroad.
