This 13' long scroll drawing was inspired by people I've observed in the bustling and diverse neighborhood of Central Square, Cambridge. I have long been fascinated with the energy of the street in this location. It's a true crossroad of humanity where people of all ages, walks of life and parts of the earth pass through. At any time of day or night one can observe a parade of students, recent immigrants, and professionals as well as the homeless, wounded veterans, the elderly and teenagers who gather to socialize or hang out. In addition there are often those who work for causes such as Green Peace added to the mix.
This drawing captures just a small fragment of what passes by every hour of every day. I hope to continue this project by adding additional scrolls depicting various seasons of the year.
